Let's Kick-Off 2018/2019 With a Shiny New Website

Updated: Nov 23, 2018

Connecting you to more detailed information, better features, and a little something special. What's not to like?

Last year in February we launched our first website for the YES2Know initiative. The development of this online platform was a milestone for us, and kudos go to the team behind bringing it to life. Saying we are lucky to have such dedicated practicum students and volunteers year after year doesn’t even bring us close to doing them justice.

Our goal was always to build upon the ways we reach out to people, and in turn give those people ways to connect with us.

Our goal in starting the website was always to build upon the ways we reach out to people, and in turn give those people new ways to connect with us and learn about what we do in the community.

The website we created enabled us to not only share information about our programs and events, but also galleries showcasing the experiences of students at YES2Know Summits across the Island. Using the site we were able to capture and share moments from our summits at Wellington Secondary in March, and Ucluelet Secondary in April.

Website 2.0

As we move forward into a new school year with new experiences ahead of us, we felt we needed to make some changes to continue to realize our original goal.

First, we’ve expanded the information available about our events and programs on the site. So, if you want information on a program like Cycles, gone is the short, vague description housed on our old page. Instead, you have access to an in-depth lesson overview available through our PDF viewer. Each of our programs, with the exception of the ABCs of a Healthy Relationship including YES2Know summits will have detailed documents available through their specific program page.

We’ve also changed the format of our website to improve stability and performance on different browsers. In addition, our mobile website is now optimized for people visiting us via their smartphone or tablet.

Last but not least, we want our website to not only be a place where people can come to learn about our programs, but also a place where people can come to connect with our team, catch up on what we’re up to in the community, and see what we’re doing behind the scenes. With that in mind, hopefully this post you’re reading today will be the first of many.
